100% recycled solid gold

Handcrafted in New York

Fairly made, fairly priced

In Greek mythology, Amphitrite was the goddess of the sea. Not a minor deity, not a nymph elevated by marriage. She was a Nereid, daughter of the old sea god Nereus, and she ruled the ocean long before Poseidon ever held a trident. When he pursued her, she fled to the Atlas Mountains. She returned on her own terms.

This molten ring features a natural 7x5mm oval sapphire in the color of Amphitrite's domain: the deep, shifting blue of open water, caught somewhere between storm and stillness.

The band is not hollowed out, as is common in modern manufacturing to lower the gold weight. It is solid through, with the heft and permanence of something pulled whole from the earth. The sapphire sits flush in its bezel like a tide pool held in stone.

Handmade to order in New York from 100% recycled gold.

Why Solid Gold

Solid gold is for those who buy once and buy well. It will not tarnish, fade, or degrade; worn daily for decades, it only grows more beautiful. It is the right choice if you want a piece that lasts a lifetime or becomes an heirloom.

Gold has appreciated steadily for centuries and retains intrinsic value: it can always be melted down and reborn as something new. It is adornment that is also an investment.

Our solid gold pieces are cast using the ancient lost wax method and are never hollow. Every gram is 100% certified recycled, and every piece is made by hand in New York City.

Why don't you make rings in Gold Vermeil?

While we love the affordability of vermeil, it's not an ideal metal for rings because our hands are exposed to so much wear and tear.

Vermeil necklaces can last 2 - 3 years with proper care, but we've never seen a vermeil ring last more than 6 months.

We believe it would be wrong to sell these rings to you in anything but solid gold.

Does your jewelry come in a box or a pouch?

Necklaces come in a beautiful maroon box, while rings come in an antique-style velvet box.

Is this ring resizable?

Yes, the structure of this ring means you can take it to a local jeweler to resize it up or down a half size if your fingers change or if it's not the perfect fit.
