The Capricorn Alchemical Zodiac Pendant is drawn from the precise instructions of a 17th-century alchemical manuscript, where its creation was described with care and reverence. Traditionally, this sigil was to be forged in gold, as lead—Capricorn's planetary metal—was said to lack the necessary harmony with other materials. It was crafted alongside a copper ring, both to be completed when the Sun enters Capricorn, during the darkest days of the year when the sun is furthest from us.
Engraving was to be done in the hour of Saturn, Capricorn’s ruling planet, and under a favorable astrological alignment with another celestial body. Once completed, the seal was to be applied during the waning phase of the Moon, though the specific planetary hour was said to be of little consequence.
Historically, this sigil was referred to as the “Seal of Favor” and was believed to hold remarkable healing properties, particularly for ailments thought to be incurable in its time, such as skin conditions affecting the thighs. Beyond its physical healing attributes, the seal was also considered a symbol of endurance, wisdom, and steadfast ambition—qualities deeply tied to Capricorn’s astrological essence.

Gold Vermeil, pronounced ver-may, is a french term for a style of gold plating that is regulated by the federal government. Unlike "gold plated" jewelry, vermeil must always be on a solid 925 sterling silver base - rather than brass - with at least 2.5 microns thickness of gold. This is 3 times thicker than normal gold plating.
This makes vermeil a longer lasting product than gold plated jewelry, as well as more valuable because it's composed entirely of precious metals.
