The Virgo Seal Pendant draws from the meticulous instructions of a 17th-century alchemical manuscript, where its creation was governed by celestial precision and astrological alignment. According to the text, the sigil was to be crafted from a precise blend of gold, copper, silver, and tin, melted and shaped during the Sun’s ingress into Virgo, typically around the 13th or 14th of August. Once cast, the metal was to be formed into a thin lamina (plate)—a delicate and refined structure befitting Virgo’s attention to detail.
The engraving was to take place during the hour of Mercury, Virgo's ruling planet, and only when Mercury was favorably aligned with other planets. The sigil had to be completed within this single astrological hour, emphasizing the fleeting nature of celestial precision. Once finished, the talisman was to be applied while Mercury occupied the First House of Heaven, ideally under a clear and serene sky, ensuring the seal’s full potency.
In ancient belief, the Virgo sigil was associated with clarity, precision, and healing, reflecting the analytical and nurturing qualities of its astrological sign. It was thought to sharpen the intellect, encourage discernment, and bring a sense of order and calm to the wearer’s life.

Unlike "gold plated" jewelry, vermeil must always be on a solid 925 sterling silver base - rather than brass - with at least 2.5 microns thickness of gold. This is 3 times thicker than normal gold plating.
This makes vermeil a longer lasting product than gold plated jewelry, as well as more valuable because it's composed entirely of precious metals.
